It’s been a great summer here in
Oregon. Here are a few tips on how to keep your car and your family safe during
the summer heat.
- Regularly check your vehicle’s coolant, hoses, belts, tires, oil, battery, air filters, and fuel filter to prevent inconvenient breakdowns.
- Keep liquids, preferably water, with you in the car to keep you and your passengers hydrated.
- Keep an emergency kit in your car in case of a breakdown: include a flashlight, first aid kit, tool kit, road flares or cones, emergency food, and a cell phone.
- Make sure not to leave your pet in the car, even with the windows down. Temperatures still soar inside a car in the summer, even with the windows cracked.
